On Sunday evening, May 5, 2013 the West Shore Regional Police Department was dispatched to the 500 block of N. 2nd Street in the Borough of Wormleysburg for a vehicle crash with a vehicle into a residence.
The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to police arrival but was located in the 1000 block of N. Front Street a very short time later. It was apparent that the driver was Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Controlled Substances and he was taken into custody for DUI and Hit and Run. After being taken into custody the subject became belligerent and uncooperative and kicked the window out of a Police Vehicle.
Investigation of the crash scene led Officers to believe that the driver was driving at a high rate of speed and he was unable to negotiate the curve of the exit coming off the Harvey Taylor bridge onto N. 2nd Street and he lost control of his vehicle, crossed N. 2nd Street went up over the sidewalk and into the residence.
The driver/accused was identified as Brian James ESTRIGHT of 631 Tower Road in Enola (East Pennsboro Township). White Male with a Date of Birth of February 3, 1976.
ESTRIGHT was charged with DUI, Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Institutional Vandalism and Accidents Involving Damage to Occupied Vehicles or Property. He was arraigned this morning by Magisterial District Judge Richard DOUGHERTY. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled to be held at Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Beckley’s office in Camp Hill on Wednesday, May 22nd at 11:45 am. Bail was set at $75,000.00 and ESTRIGHT is being held at the Cumberland County Prison.
