On Saturday, June 15, 2013 around 4 pm Officers from the West Shore Regional Police Department were summoned to residences in the 300 block of S. Front Street in Wormleysburg Borough for a Burglary.

Two victims at the scene reported items including but not limited to firearms, jewelry and electronics stolen from their homes.  One of the victims reported that he allowed a female into his residence to clean.  Later he learned that a tenant reported that someone unlawfully entered his residence and stole property.

The female was identified as Tara Marie LAFEVER of 302 S. Front Street in Wormleysburg.  She was eventually arrested and stolen property was later recovered from her residence after the execution of a search warrant.  A few items of stolen jewelry were also recovered from her person when she was searched at the County Prison.  (LAFEVER is a White Female, Date of Birth 11.02.1982)

As Officers were awaiting the approval of the Search Warrant it was learned that a male by the name of Charles James THORNEWELL had removed other stolen items from LAFEVER’s residence including the firearms and some electronics and hid them in a neighbor’s residence.  THORNEWELL had fled the residence but was later located and arrested.  Upon THORNEWELL’s arrest it was determined that he was a Wanted Person out of New Jersey for Burglary.  (THORNEWELL is a White Male, Date of Birth 05.09.1981)

As a result of this investigation LAFEVER was charged with Burglary and Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition.  She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Charles Clement at the Cumberland County Prison.  Her bail was set at $25,000.  Her preliminary hearing is going to be held at Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Beckley’s office on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
