On Thursday, December 12, 0213, around 4:10pm, the West Shore Regional Police Department received a report of a possible theft at Isaac’s Restaurant, 1200 Market Street, Lemoyne.
Upon investigating, it was learned that earlier in the day, the manager discovered that money was missing from the store’s cash register. This also happened on Monday, December 2, 2013. It was also learned that on Sunday, December 1, 2013, an employee had a debit card stolen from her purse. 20-year-old Joseph Lee MCLAUGHLIN, from the 300 block od State Street, East Pennsboro Township, was identified as a possible suspect.
Through further investigation, officers learned that the employee’s debit card had been used at a nearby business. Video of the transaction was viewed, and MCLAUGHLIN was positively identified as using the victim’s card. A warrant, for MCLAUGHLIN’s arrest, was obtained on the following charges: 2 counts of Forgery and 1 count each of Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft and Theft By Unlawful Taking.
On Sunday, December 15, 2013, MCLAUGHLIN was taken into custody at a residence in Fairview Township, York County. MCLAUGHLIN was transported to the Cumberland County Prison where he was processed and arraigned on the charges listed. He was video arraigned by MDJ Richard Dougherty and placed in Cumberland County Prison pending a Preliminary Hearing before MDJ Elisabeth Beckley.
