On Monday, July 14, 2014 at 3:16 PM West Shore Regional Police officers were dispatched to Joann Fabrics in the West Shore Plaza at 1200 Market Street in Lemoyne Borough for an active retail theft. A red-headed white female wearing a tye dye shirt was to have concealed items to steal them. Employees were watching this subject as she had stolen a sewing machine from the store the week prior. The female was to have gone into the bathroom with multiple un-purchased items and exited the bathroom without them.
Officers made contact with the suspect, Crystal Sue MORSE of the 900 block of Walnut Street in Lemoyne Borough and found that she had concealed $185.64 in merchandise in a large tote bag that she was carrying. The stolen sewing machine and other possibly stolen merchandise from other stores was found in MORSE’s vehicle parked outside. MORSE has a history of arrests for Theft. Morse was also visibly intoxicated and resisted police and caused a scene when being arrested. A partially consumed and recently purchased bottle of liquor was found inside her vehicle as well. WSRPD officers were assisted on scene by officers from the Camp Hill Borough Police Department.
MORSE was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. Charges for Retail Theft and Public Drunkenness were filed for MORSE with MDJ Beckley’s Office. MORSE was arraigned and her bail was set at $2,500. MORSE was unable to post bail and was committed to Cumberland County Prison to await her preliminary hearing at a later date.
