New Cumberland Man Arrested For DUI With Children In The Vehicle

On Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 8:32 PM A West Shore Regional Police Officer stopped a silver 2014 Dodge SUV for weaving dangerously into the opposing lane of traffic and weaving onto the shoulder towards parked cars in the 600 block of N. Front Street in Wormleysburg Borough.  Inside the vehicle was the operator, Rodrigo ALVARADO of the 800 block of Sherwood Road in New Cumberland Borough and his two children ages 10 and 6.

ALVARADO exhibited signs of intoxication and was taken into custody.  ALVARADO was transported to the Carlisle Regional Medical Center where he submitted to a blood test.  He was then transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing.

Charges of Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol Or A Controlled Substance will be filed with MDJ Beckley’s Office upon receipt of the blood test results.  There is enhanced grading and penalties for a DUI charge where a child is present in the vehicle.

ALVARADO’s children were released to a family member.
