Reports of Telephone Scam have been received by the West Shore Regional Police Department

 

The West Shore Regional Police Department has received several calls today from residents reporting that they have received automated telephone calls from someone purporting to be Susquehanna Bank and advising that their credit card has been compromised.  These calls are scams and are not being initiated by Susquehanna Bank.  Residents are reminded that you should never provide your credit card or any other personal information to someone that you do not know.

Two Teens Robbed In Area Of N. 7th & Walnut Sts - Suspect Arrested

 

The West Shore Regional Police Department arrested Jason Matthew BAKER of the 800 block of Linwood Street, New Cumberland Borough last night for Robbery. 

 

The department was called to the area of North 7th Street and Walnut Streets last night, January 18, 2009, around 8:15 pm for a robbery incident that just occurred.  The victims, 15 year old and a 17 year old males, reported that they were walking along the 1st block of North 7th street when a white vehicle pulled up and a white male approached them and demanded them to empty their pockets.  The victims gave them an undetermined amount of cash and the suspect fled in the vehicle.

 

The suspect was identified as BAKER and he turned himself into the police around 10:00 pm.  He is being charged with one (1) count each of Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking and Simple Assault. 

 

BAKER was taken to Cumberland County Central Processing for booking and Arraignment.  He was arraigned this morning by Magisterial District Judge Charles A. CLEMENT.  His bail was set at $5000.00.  A preliminary hearing was scheduled to be held at Magisterial District Judge Roger Estep's office at 1901 State Street in Camp Hill on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:00 am.
